The Bank Cafe & Restaurant is the concept of two entrepreneurial partners, George Copland and Fiona J D Pearson.

Meet the Kitchen Team

Alastair Smith – Head Chef

Alastair brings a wealth of knowledge and over 20 years experience in the catering business to The Bank Café & Restaurant, in Huntly. He has worked as head chef in a wide variety of restaurants and hotels throughout Scotland. These include The Balmoral Hotel Edinburgh, MacDonald Hotels, Gerard’s, a very popular former French restaurant in Aberdeen city and for the past six years he has been the head chef at The Castle Hotel in Huntly.

“I’m delighted to join The Bank Café & Restaurant in Huntly. My aim is simple, to serve fresh seasonal food with the emphasis on Scottish produce and to appeal to the palates of our varied clientele both locals and tourists alike, using as many local producers and suppliers as possible”.

Susan Skinner – Sous Chef

Susan has over 10 years experience in the catering industry in a variety of roles. She joined The Bank Café & Restaurant as Sous Chef in October 2017 and combines this role with working on her busy family farm.

“I believe in using locally sourced Scottish produce as well as seasonal ingredients. I’m really enjoying my role at The Bank Café & Restaurant and welcome the opportunity to increase my experience and food knowledge by working with talented chefs, such as our new Head Chef Alastair Smith”.
